Last updated September 2026 · Applies to both organisers and voters using AyamVote.
AyamVote ("we", "us", "the platform") provides paid online voting for events, awards, pageants and similar competitions in Ghana. By creating an organiser account, or by voting through an AyamVote event page, you agree to these terms. Where a section applies specifically to organisers or specifically to voters, it says so.
AyamVote is a technology platform: it lets an organiser set up categories and contestants, collect paid votes from the public, and track results. AyamVote does not:
The organiser is responsible for:
Organiser accounts are self-registered, and each belongs to one organisation. Organisers are responsible for protecting their login credentials, providing accurate account information, and not sharing access in a way that compromises the account. We may suspend or restrict an account where there is reasonable evidence of fraud, abuse, a security risk, or a serious violation of these terms.
The organiser sets the vote price. Depending on the organiser's settings, a service fee may also apply, and a payment-processing fee may be added. Whatever the total charge is, it is shown to the voter before payment is completed, never added afterward.
Payments are processed through Paystack. If Paystack has problems, AyamVote may process vote payments through SeevPlus instead, as described in section 7. AyamVote does not receive or store a voter's raw card number, and does not see or store a mobile money PIN. Those are entered directly with the payment provider.
A vote is only credited once the payment provider has confirmed the payment was successful. Once a successfully paid vote has been credited, it cannot normally be cancelled or reversed by the voter. However, AyamVote may investigate and take appropriate action where there is a payment error, duplicate payment, fraud, chargeback, technical failure, or other exceptional circumstance (see section 9).
This is the part organisers most need to understand clearly, so here it is plainly:
Payments are processed through Paystack using the organiser's own connected payout account. At the moment a voter pays, Paystack's split-payment system allocates the organiser's share and AyamVote' commission. This determines who each part of the payment belongs to. It is a separate step from settlement, which is when Paystack actually deposits the organiser's share into their bank account or Mobile Money wallet.
Settlement timing is set by Paystack, not by AyamVote. Organisers should generally expect eligible funds to settle on the next applicable business day, but this is not a guarantee. Weekends, public holidays, payment-provider issues, account verification requirements, reversals, or other conditions on Paystack's side can affect it. AyamVote does not hold or store organiser vote revenue at any point. We never take custody of it and pass it on later; it is allocated directly to the organiser's own account through Paystack's split. The same applies to a payment processed through SeevPlus, which is split to the organiser's SeevPlus payout account (section 7).
Unless otherwise agreed with the organiser, AyamVote' platform commission is 10% of vote revenue. Vote revenue means the vote price × the number of votes in an order. It does not include any separately shown service fee or payment-processing fee, which are charged to the voter and never form part of what the commission is calculated on.
The commission is allocated through Paystack's split at the moment of payment, as described above. AyamVote does not manually deduct it from money that has already settled to an organiser. A different commission rate can be arranged for a specific organiser or event (for example, based on an event's expected scale) by contacting us before the event goes live; any such arrangement should be agreed in advance of the transactions it applies to. A rate change never alters what a transaction already completed under the previous rate earned the organiser.
Once a payout account has been connected and verified, organisers cannot change it directly from their dashboard. This is a deliberate security measure: it removes the one action that could let someone who gains access to an organiser's password quietly redirect future settlements to a different account.
If payout details genuinely need to change, the organiser must contact us, and may be required to complete additional verification before any change is made.
So that voting can continue if Paystack has problems during an event, AyamVote can process vote payments through SeevPlus as a backup. Organisers may be required to register a SeevPlus payout account for each campaign, through their AyamVote dashboard. SeevPlus checks each account itself before it can be used, so it should be registered well before voting starts.
AyamVote decides when to switch payments to SeevPlus and when to switch back. A switch only affects votes started after it; a payment already in progress stays with the provider it started with. While SeevPlus is in use, voters pay by Mobile Money only, and a campaign without a verified SeevPlus payout account cannot accept new votes until its account is verified.
A payment through SeevPlus is split the same way as a payment through Paystack (section 4): the organiser receives the same share, apart from small rounding differences, and AyamVote bears SeevPlus's processing fee. Settlement timing for these payments is set by SeevPlus, not by AyamVote. If a campaign's vote price, service fee or commission changes after its SeevPlus account is registered, the account must be registered again before SeevPlus can accept new votes for that campaign.
If an organiser enables public nominations for an event, nominations may be free or carry a nomination fee, and the organiser may require their own review before a nomination becomes an official contestant. Nominations do not require voting to be open. An organiser can collect nominations while voting is still closed. A nomination fee, where one applies, is processed and settled through the same Paystack payment infrastructure, split, and settlement rules described in sections 3-4. Nomination fees are always processed through Paystack, not SeevPlus.
Ordinary votes are not refundable once credited. That said, some situations need a closer look, and AyamVote will investigate them rather than ignore them:
If you believe one of these has happened, contact us using the form on our homepage. How a specific transaction is ultimately treated can depend on the payment provider's own status and reconciliation for that transaction. AyamVote cannot override a decision Paystack or SeevPlus has made about a payment on its own platform.
Our Privacy Policy explains in full what personal information we collect, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and your rights.
AyamVote may investigate activity reasonably suspected to involve fraudulent payments, stolen payment methods, automated or bot voting, attempts to bypass voting restrictions, exploitation of a technical vulnerability, repeated abusive transactions, or other activity intended to unfairly influence an event's results.
Where appropriate, we may reject or adjust affected votes, restrict or suspend voting on an event, suspend an event or an organiser account, cooperate with our payment providers or relevant authorities where required, and take other reasonable steps to protect the platform's integrity. We investigate suspected cases rather than acting automatically on every flagged vote.
We may temporarily suspend or restrict an event where there is reasonable concern involving fraud, payment abuse, unlawful activity, a serious violation of these terms, a security vulnerability, or other circumstances that need investigation. Where reasonably practicable, we will notify the organiser and explain why, but we are not obliged to give advance notice where doing so would itself create a security or fraud risk.
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Interruptions can come from maintenance, software issues, hosting or network failures, a Paystack or SeevPlus outage, general internet problems, a security incident, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Once an event is published, its page and the categories, contestants, and nomination details on it become publicly reachable at its voting link, and the organiser controls whether and when live results are visible. Organisers are responsible for having the right or permission to publish any contestant names, photographs, logos, descriptions, or other content they upload, and must not knowingly publish unlawful, defamatory, impersonating, or rights-infringing content. We may remove content, or restrict an event, that violates this.
AyamVote is not responsible for the outcome of an organiser's competition; disputes between an organiser and their contestants or voters about the event itself; delays or outages caused by Paystack, SeevPlus or another third-party service; or losses caused by an organiser's own inaccurate information or misconduct. Nothing in this section limits any right or responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Ghanaian law.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana.
We may update these terms as the platform changes. The latest version is always the one published here, with an updated "last updated" date above. Continuing to use AyamVote after a change means you accept the updated terms.

For organisers: creating an organiser account requires accepting these terms; by then creating and publishing an event, you confirm your continued agreement to them, including the commission, payment and settlement rules, organiser responsibilities, and the fraud and event suspension provisions above.
